Presenter
- Oleg Bell, Head of IT Security, Open Society Foundations
Oleg has been leading the IT Security team at Open Society since 2011. He had a unique opportunity to build the entire team and security from scratch, all while navigating security incidents and constant attention from APT actors. Hands on experience with incident response and daily exposure to malware and incident triage working side by side with leading forensic and threat intelligence vendors has taught Oleg that no plan survives the fog of the battlefield. Staying ahead of the moving threat landscape and continuously improving and maturing a security program is his current focus.
Prior to leading the security team, Oleg has spent ten years with the OSF IT Operations and Infrastructure team, helping them expand a complex global network spanning over a dozen countries and time zones and serving two thousand staff. Oleg also serves as a Vice President and is a founding Bbard member of NGO-ISAC, an intelligence sharing community that enables the NGO sector to communicate cyber-attack information and collaborate on incident response and cyber security best practices. He holds a BS in Computer Science and an MBA in Strategic Management from the Lubin School of Business in NY. |
